Creating a Positive Climate for Learning!

Effective schools are supportive and inclusive where students feel safe to take chances in their learning and push the boundaries of their abilities. In this session, our presenter will unpack the ideas behind “positive climates for learning” and provide you with some tips and tricks that can help your students to feel comfortable to take risks in the classroom.

Presented by: Benjamin Pisani (PAVE Academy & Hester Hornbrook Academy)

Benjamin Pisani is a highly experienced teacher and educational leader. While Ben has had over 15 years as a classroom teacher teaching Music, VCAL and Digital Technologies, he currently directs the education team at the PAVE Academy, is the education specialist for Pro AV Solutions Victoria and teaches VET Music at the Hester Hornbrook Academy.

Behaviour & Classroom Management:
tips to create a productive learning environment!

Even the best planned lesson can go of the rails due to student behaviour, ensuring that your classroom runs smoothly and without disruption is one of the key concerns for every teacher. In this session, our presenter will explore tips and tricks that you can use to assist classroom management and student behaviour in your classroom.

Presented by: Kevin Nguyen (Teachers & Director of Arts, John Paul College)

Kevin Nguyen is an experienced teacher and educational leader who currently teachers classroom, VCE and VET Music, as well as directing the the arts program at John Paul College. Working as both an itinerate and permanent staff member throughout his career, Kevin is keen to share the tips and tricks he has picked up along his career thus far.

Goal Setting & Feedback – using rubrics for high quality practice!

‘What’s next?’ is the most powerful statement uttered by teachers as they plan for learning. Leveraging high-quality rubrics as a tool can increase opportunities for you to promote effective goal-setting approaches for students and incorporate meaningful feedback on their learning. Our presenter will unpack the key ideas behind rubrics, their development and demonstrate strategies of how they can be used within your classroom practice.

Presented by: Prue Pisani (Department of Education and Training Victoria)

Prue Pisani is a highly experienced educator with a over 15 years experience in the school sector. Working as a primary classroom teacher and educational leader. She is also an experienced facilitator and has extensive skills in learning design and innovation, and is currently working as a leadership coach for the Department of Education and Training Victoria.
